Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

My daughter is a 20 year old,(soon to be 21 yr, old) somtimes college student who lives at home with me (her father) I just found out that she has been driving her car with no insurance because she let the policy lapse (she says that she could no longer afford the premium) and her insurance co. turned her name into the registry dept. so now her registration is no longer valid (I had it checked and it is no longer valid). My question is :If she should get pulled over by the police, or (GOD forbid) into an accident will I be held liable because she resides in my household, and could I lose my home due to a law suit?

Hello,

You should record a declaration of homestead with the registry of deeds to protect your residence, if you have not already done so. If your name is on the title of the car in question, there is potential liability if you allow your daughter to operate the vehicle knowing that it is uninsured. Please email me if you would like to discuss this matter.
