Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

Hi! My friend (maybe not now) owes me $2000, and I got a favorable judgment. He has no cash, no assets, but he owns a patent. Can I sell his patent? If yes, what should I do? What if he file bankruptcy? Does this make any difference? Thank you!

You could file a supplementary process action to have him summonsed to court to be examined as to his ability to pay this judgment and seek an order for payment from the court which might include an order regarding his assigning to you rights regarding royalties from his patent. Good Luck!
