Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Massachusetts

I used to work for company A where I made software recommendation. At some point I recommended a software from company B which was accepted by upper management/owners.

I then left to go work for company B. Through some issues, some valid some not so much in my opinions, company A never went live with the software. Now both company are in litigation over this. I no longer work for either but company A contacted me to discuss the matter. My questions are:

A) Should I declined or should I talk to the owner of Company B on the subject

B) Could I be sued for any type of restitution in that matter? I made the recommendation in good faith and it was just that, a recommendation, they ultimately made the decision.

Thanks,

Patrick

You appear to be asking the right kinds of questions here but, unfortunately, so much more information is necessary to determine what your potential risks and options might be, or to chart the best available course for you. Meaningful guidance is probably difficult or impossible without such additional information.

I echo the previous suggestion you consult with an attorney. I would be happy to discuss this with you if you contact me directly. Good luck.
