Legal Question in Juvenile Dependency in Massachusetts

My grandson and his 16 year old girlfriend, Lauren, lived with me for one year. Lauren's mother and step father worked full time and her mother also collected child support. Lauren moved out one year ago. In retrospect I think I should have demanded child support. If I persue a small claims case - is there an implied agreement by not pressing the issue with Lauren's mother that could essentailly cause me to lose the case?

If you had an agreement wherein you would be reimbursed for expenses then pursue it, if not let it lie.
