Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Labor Law

I have been out on medical leave for 2 months. I was getting medical through my employer. They covered 100% but now want to only cover 50%. They have sent me a bill for the 50% for last month but have never sent me a letter telling me I needed to pay is this legal?

Re: Labor Law

Are you out on FMLA leave? If so, an employer is required to maintain coverage under a group health plan with benefits at the same level as would have been provided if the employee had been continuously employed during the FMLA leave period. So, if they had been paying 100%, they should still be doing so. Keep in mind that this applies to FMLA leave, and not necessarily any other type of leave.
