manditory on call

can a 20 bed assisted living facility now decide that each employee must be on call 24/7 for 1 week each, manditory. This is a new rule just submitted after 16 years of employment.

Unless there is an employment contract, new requirements can be added as a condition of continued employment. If these new conditions are a significant change in employment conditions, or cannot be met by an employee, then the employee may be eligible for unemployment benefits.
