Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Can I sue or must I go to EEOC first

I work for the Post Office. Must I file a complaint with the EEOC first (or for that matter with MCAD) or can I go directly to Federal Court and sue. The harassment I am subjected too each day is getting worse and I must act quickly.

It also depends on what type of harassment you are alleging. If it is based on a "suspect classification," for example, race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, etc, you need to go to the administrative agency first.

I do not know what department you are in at the post office, or the nature of the harassment. TO answer your question, you must exhaust your administrative remedies - but what those are depends on the nature of the harassment, and your job classification.
