Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Can I be sued for defamation from my employer for testimony I gave during an unemployment hearing in MA? I quit my job for cause and gave my explanation of why I quit during the hearing. During the hearing, the employer stated that the accusations I made were serious and could effect his business and he was considering taking legal action. The facts I gave were true. I also was under the impression that an unemployment hearing is considered "priviliged" and not for public record.

lawsuits against the employer are generally protected by the workers compensation act/ However suits can be brought against the person who violated your rights.

Note where the misdonduct does not become public or for any future employers the lawsuit would most likely not go forward.
