Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Voluntary termination expectations

I gave my notice at my current employer last Friday. It specified that my last day would be 2 weeks later.

Today (Tuesday), my boss told me that THIS friday (only 5 days after giving notice) would be my last day and that they would not pay me beyond that.

Should they pay me out through the 2 week notice period?

Re: Voluntary termination expectations

Unless the company has a written policy stating that it will pay you through whatever period of notice you give, the law does not require them to allow you to stay and receive wages.
