Assuming you are a tenant or a guest and not a minor child or spouse, the landlord can do it for non-payment of rent on 14 days notice or if the agreement is month to month 30 days notice.

If there is no rental or lease agreement, then you are month to month.

Even if the Landlord is a parent and you are an independent adult (no one is your legal guardian), they can evict you.

The answer to your question really depends on the type of tenancy you have.

If you have a tenancy under a written lease agreement, then your tenancy may be generally be terminated in accordance with its terms. If you are a tenant-at-will, then it is likely you may be evicted for any lawful reason, or for no reason at all, with just a 30-day rental period notice.

If you are being evicted, you should retain counsel. Good luck!
