In the state of Massachusetts, Does a bedroom have to have a closet?

Basically it depends when the house was built, and what the building code said at that time. If at the time the bedroom was put in, there was no requirement, then no. But if there was a requirement at that time, then yes. The matter is complicated by whether renovations of the property were performed in the interim, and whether those renovations would abnegate the grandfathered status of the bedroom.

Then there is the issue of whether a bedroom would be appraised as a bedroom by a real estate appraiser. In all, there are specifics I need to know before I can answer your question.
