Legal Question in Military Law in Massachusetts

discharge upgrade

after 4 yrs of service and tour in iraq where he lost the hearing in his left ear and got a concusion and has been diagnoised with PTSD~ my son made 1 bad choice and failed a urine test . he was given a OTH and served 30 days in the brigg. they actualy kept him in 3 month past his contract date of release. he was never once offered any drug couciling or assitance . He was an upstanding marine that made one bad judgement call.what are his chances in getting an upgrade so he can atleast get the disability benefits he deserves and maybe get his GI bill back so he can attend school as his injuries prevent him from doing what he had planned on when he got out

Re: discharge upgrade

Your son should contact the Legal assistance Officer in the Judge Advocate Generals Office of his present or last command and seek their advice on this question. Good Luck!
