Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

name misspelled on a release

What are the ramifications of my name being misspelled in a release of all claims document? Is that a problem for either me or the company (whom the claim is against)? Should I sign it correctly or sign it the way they spelled it?

Re: name misspelled on a release

You can correct the spelling of your name and then sign it correctly. If it is mispelled throughout the document, call and have them correct it.

Re: name misspelled on a release

If the release is acceptable & you want to make sure it is without holes as to your name, either change the name on the release, or sign it both as spelled on the release, and as spelled legally.
