Bottom line the client usually has to pay the medical bills. If they are not paid, the providers are paid out of the settlement. If the bills are paid, usually the person who paid them is paid back out of the settlement (i.e. health insurance lienholder is paid). There are exceptional situations where med bills do not have to be paid back, such as where the injured person has Med Pay under an auto policy. I hope this helps.

Your insurance company pays medical bills and seeks reimbursement from insurer for person more than 50% at fault for the accident.

You should retain an attorney if you were seriously injured.
