Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

''Disabled and being evicted''

I am a renter of 15 years, longer than the present landlord has owned the house. I have been in this apartment building the longest. Through the years, I have been a bit tarty on my rent, meaning a week tops. And I am far from a pain, meaning I don't call my landlord for everything that needs to be fixed in my house.

I have just recieved an eviction notice from my landlord, and don't know what to do. I am partially diabled (getting worse by the day) and don't have a lot of means to get out and look for a new place to live. I go to work, part time, and pretty much keep to myself. I live in a three bedroom apartment alone, my two children have grown and started thier own family. I am a 50 year old woman, that needs a little help on knowing her rights.

If you have any advice, or can give me a start at what I'm suppose to do now, PLEASE email me and let me know.

Thank you so much for your help, in advance.

You may qualify for legal services which will give you legal representation without cost or at a reduced fee. If you are in Boston you can call the Greater Boston Legal Services or look in the yellow pages under legal services. An attorney should look at your notice and interview you before giving you advice.
