Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

I went to an open house on April and was surprised by the skunk smell. The realtor told us that the owners dog had gotten sprayed by a skunk and ran through the house. Everyone there laughed it off. We loved the house other wise and made an offer. We closed on June 22, one hour before closing we did the walk through, the house smelled even worse. the prior owner agreed to send critter control out. we were told that there was a dead skunk. 2000.00 later they tell us that they could not retrieve the animal. a second company was called and 390.00 later they told us that the dead animal was under the foundation of the house. They couldn't get to it. We are only living in part of the house. The smell has contaminated our belongings and it appears that this was a pre-existing problem. What can we do. This house is not livable. Please advise.

It would seem that you have a claim here. You should contact an attorney as soon as possible. Look for someone who has litigated real estate matters in the past.
