Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

I received a summons regarding a city in Massachusetts with me listed as a defendent. They did spell my last name wrong. I believe they have the wrong person. This city wants to do three things: removal a cloud from the title; complete an adverse claimant to try title and clam adverse possession of the real property (address listed). This land was taken in 1908 from an individual that I have no idea who he is. How do I respond to this. Right now I have listed the three complaints and responded with "The defendant denies knowledge or information." It will cost me almost $20.00 to respond if I send it certified mail/return receipt requested to the appropriate lawyer an d court. Also need to do a counterclaim. Should I call this laywer and find out what is going on or just respond by mail without a phone call.

I would contact the attorney and find out what is going on.

Unless the City is seeking funds from you or you believe you have an interest in the property, then you can mail a response which says I am not the person named in the complaint and have no knowledge of the matters assert therein.

What are you counter claiming for? If you are not the party, then what claim do you have against the City?
