Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

Settlement Retained

We recently settled out of court an agreement with our current tenants $9,000. The check was received by our attorney and he stated that he would make sure it was ''good'' and then summit us a check from his firm. Three weeks later and hence, no check. We've called but he's conveintly away from his desk. Do attoney's keep settlements? and if yes for how long?

Thanks.

Re: Settlement Retained

Send your attorney a letter, give a deadline (maybe 1 week). I expect this will get you what you want. If not then try the Board of Bar Overseers.

Good Luck.
