Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

My storage unit was auctioned off by mistake and I got most items back, however some of our belongings were already sold. I am wondering what, if any, legal recourse we have? Thanks.

Subject to understanding what the mistake was and how it occurred, you are entitled to restitution for the items sold at replacement cost.

The sale was a wrongful conversion of your goods, if the seller had no legal right to sell them.

Good Luck
