Legal Question in Tax Law in Massachusetts

I am about to be auditted

The IRS has scheduled me for an audit sometime soon. Their concern is for the medical expenses claimed that I exagerated on from my 2005 income tax form. I think I claimed about $5000.00, it was really less than $1000.00. Should I get an attorney for the audit, what should I expect? My income for 2005 was less than $20,000.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would strongly urge you to get a tax attorney. A good tax attorney can save you thousands in penaltys and interest. Let along, preventing the IRS from instituting criminal charges against you.
