Legal Question in Traffic Law in Massachusetts

drivers license

I got a ma drivers license and lost my wallet. i was pulled over getting on the highway by police. i have a license but i lost my card. I give my name and information. The officer never stated why I was being pulled over. I did ask. When the officers returned (about 3 police cars and a state car was already sitting at the on ramp of the highway because of construction) they asked me to step out of the vehicle and arrested me for driving with a suspended license. I called the registry of motor vehicles and paid a speeding ticket because I thought that would be the reason for it being suspended. The registry informed me that I did not have a suspended license. When I went to court I was told that I had a suspended license under an issued number prior to ever having a license. They also point out a typo on my replacemenmt ID that my birth year is wrong. I never took notice to the error. I have prior driving without a drivers. Now I'm being charged with driving without a license and I actually had one. I've been to court and someone of the court made a comment as to say that I falsified documents. I was offended and my qoestion to you is what can happen? Is ther any material or law resources that would help my case?

Re: drivers license

You had an "A" license, or an I.D. number given to you because of your motor vehicle offense prior to obtaining your license. In order to prosecute you the Commonwealth will have to produce certified copies of your driving record from the Registry of Motor Vehicles. This will show that you had a valid license at that time.

You have to be sure to obtain your full records at that time, or prior, on your own. You can still be found responsible for operating a motor vehicle without your license in possession, but that is not a criminal offense.
