Legal Question in Traffic Law in Massachusetts

Junior Operator License Penalties

I recently got a speeding ticket for going 53 in a 30 MPH Zone, and under the new Junior Operator License Laws in MA I am now supposed to lose my license for 90 days among other things. I have the option of setting up a hearing, and I was just wondering what would going to this hearing accomplish. Is there anyway that I can get the sentence reduced? Also on the paper the RMV sent me it says I am not elligible for a hardship license. What is a hardship license, why am I not currently elligible for it, and is there anyway I can become elligible for it.

Re: Junior Operator License Penalties

If you have the option of a clerk magistrate's hearing you should apply for it before the time to do so expires and attend in your best clothes in the hope that you might politely ask the police prosecutor and/or clerk magistrate to reduce it to a warning.

Good Luck!
