Legal Question in Veterans Law in Massachusetts

Disability Compensation for dependents

Upon discharge from the Army during the Vietnam war in 1969, I was awarded a 30% disability for Atopic Dermatitis. I recently learned that I should have received dependent compensation for my wife and children. How do I go about approaching the VA about this oversight. Even though I was married when I received the disability rating, I was never informed that I was eligible.

Re: Disability Compensation for dependents

You actually have several options:

1) Do this through your Senators / Representatives office;

2) Do this through your local VFW office;

3) Do this directly though the VA;

4) or contact a Lawyer who specializes in Veterans affairs.

Good Luck with your amended claim.
