Beneficiaries

As a beneficiary of an insurance policy, does this come directly to me or distributed through that person's will first, even though the will doesn't specify the assets?

Insurance is paid directly to the named Beneficiaries unless the Estate is named as the beneficiary, whereupon it is paid through the Estate.

The terms of the insurance policy control the distribution.

If you are listed as the primary beneficiary then the life insurance will go directly to you, it does NOT pass thru the Will.
