There is some additional information that is needed to answer this question. Generally, however, Medicaid can look back 36 months to actions taken to assert claims against the asset. However, there are some ways to deal with this.

I would suggest you contact an attorney who does estate planning and elder care work ASAP. You need to have a large amount of information. Such as a list of her assets, a copy of her deed. Is her husband still alive and living in the home, if so this will provide some protection.
