Legal Question in Workers Comp in Massachusetts

workmens comp??

The doctor says i can not ever do my job again even after the surgery. The co. I worked for fired me and stopped work com checks. I have a lawyer and a settlement case againest them. I worked hard for my degree and just bought a house on my own and now I am going to lose my home and everything i worked hard for, all because i got hurt on my job. this is not anyjob, you need a college degree and be licensed. I don't blame the Co. because if i can't do the job anymore because of the injury, they don't need me and then fire me and stop my comp. and tell me to wait for a settelment. How come I'm not entitled to my comp. pay til I'm trained in other areas in my profession ? . I'm 23yrs.old . How could my lawyer let this happen? He could care less, all he says is we got a good case. I'm totally broke. My house is a month away from being repossed . Can the Co. do this? Can I re-place my lawyer? Is there any help to keep my house ? I need advise really quick.

Re: workmens comp??

You state that you have a settlement case. If there is no date scheduled for the settlement hearing, it is possible to replace your attorney. There are other facts that I would need to know before stating whether the company would pay you until you find another job. Please feel free to contact me for a free consultation.
