Legal Question in Immigration Law in Mexico

My wife and son were detained at a border crossing and their visas were taken from them by the immigration officials. Let me explain further:

Me and my family were visiting friends in Phoenix Arizona, my son due to an illness, takes a monthly shot to boost his immune system; since we can not do that in the US, he crossed over to Mexico with a couple of friends in Nogales Arizona to Nogales Sonora, Mexico; and got the shot. He then came back through the same Nogales Arizona border crossing point and he was detained under the suspicion that he was illegally doing school in the US. This was on a Thursday, on a school day, back in January (if my memory doesn't fail me). The immigration officer let him go after questioning him since nothing about the suspicion could be proven.

One month later he crossed again, but this time he was accompanied by my wife, his mother. they were both taken for questioning and were asked to provide bank account papers to prove they lived in Mexico, since we had never been asked for such a thing they had no such papers and their visas were taken away from them. The immigration officer gave them a date to come back with papers and all one week later, since my wife and son could not stay, I later joned them in Nogales Sonora, Mexico with our other kids and ended our visit to our friends in Phoenix. We went to Laredo Texas border crossing about one week later to try to fix this but the local immingration officer told us that he could do nothing about it. He provided a phone number, but we could never get though to the officer that was going to meet us in Nogales, we kept trying from our home back in Saltillo, Coahuila, Mexico; we could never get through. The date we were to show up in Nogales passed without us having a way to communicate with some one to solve this.

My wife and son want to renew their visas, so we can go shopping and visit our friends later on, what can we do? Is there a process we need to follow before we ask for the visas again? Is there some thing we are unaware of that we must do?

Thank you very much.

Before anything else, thanks for writing me at LawGuru.com

No, you must explain the case to US Consulate. Sometimes migration officers takes their work very seriously, but if you explain your case and reasons, US Consulate must help you.

If you can't get help at US Consulate, you can contact to Embassy: http://Mexico.USembassy.gov

Any doubt or another question, let me know it please.
