Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Is this right?

I was pulled over. I was not told why. I was asked to get out of the car, was searched then placed in the back of the squad car, still not being told why. They did the same to my wife again still not telling us what was going on. They asked to search the car, we agreed and they found nothing. After all of that did he run my licence to find that it was suspended but he would not have found that out by running the tags because the tags and car are in my mother-in-law's name. Was what he did illegal and can I get the ticket dropped on the basis of ''Fruit of the poisonous tree'' doctrine?

Without knowing all the facts and reviewing all of the reports it is impossible to tell you your chances. With that being said, the police must have reasonable suspicion to pull you over. I would be glad to talk with you further if you'd like. Please call us anytime toll free at 877 MICH-TEAM.
