creating toys for kids & adults

I have invented a toy that can fit both kids & adults up to 250lb.

I cant afford the mess of patend.

how do I go about selling the idea to a company ?

How can I protect my idea?

There are two things that you can do. One is to file a provisional patent application, the cost is less than 100.00 and the second thing that you can do is to have your potential buyer sign a non-disclosure agreement. Bear in mind that once you offer your product for sale under Federal law you have only one year to file a patent application. Thus, I recommend that you write a good disclosure of the invention and file this as a provisional patent application, and if it does work out you can have an attorney write a utility application, and claim priority based on the provisional.
