If you are asking if the contract is legal or valid, the answer is likely yes. Michigan does honor most non-compete agreements, as long as they specify a time period and geographical area and are generally "reasonable," which it sounds like this contract is. However, if the agreement is making it impossible for you to find a job, the court might not hold you to it, given today's economy and the difficulty of finding a job, especially if you are not purposely re-routing clients from your previous employer, interfering with their business or otherwise "harming" your prior employer.
