Legal Question in Business Law in Michigan

Payroll records

My wife works for a company of less than 8 employees and she wants to see the records of her income for the last 3 years, and also see how the wages were dispersed according to the income of the company. She would like to see any profit and loss statements and other accounting records that might have an effect on her wages. The present accoutant keeps delaying handing over any information and is extremely uncooperative and evasive in their answers. My question is, what kind of legal rights does she have to force them to open the books?

Re: Payroll records

Unless your wife is an owner, she does NOT have the right to force the company to open their books. She has the right to request her own personal information, --although she is supposed to already have that in the form of W-2s and pay stubs.
