Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

My husband and I had our city police department break into our condo because our management company and president THOUGHT there could be a water leak because the main water meter read 400,000 gallons of water, which our city guys read wrong. Anyway they broke into our condo, did not call us until after the fact, well supposedly there were 7 people in our condo while we were at work and my wedding rings and band were stolen. Plus they broke into our condo. Now they are telling us they are allowed to do this but when we talked to several lawyers and other cops from other cities they tell us NO WAY. Is there a huge lawsuit here. My husband and I feel so violated.

I really don't see one. You make an insurance claim on your lost items and I'm sure your lease allows for entry in an emergency. Even

if violation, what are your damages, other than lost jewlery. This is

my opinion, others may disagree. www.kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
