Legal Question in Technology Law in Michigan

Record Conversations from OpenHouse

I'd like to know if it is legal to record the audio of people who go through my house during an openhouse as I am trying to sell it? My understanding is it is based on a reasonable expectation of privacy. Does someone have a reasonable expectation of privacy as they are looking through my home?

Re: Record Conversations from OpenHouse

You are correct in that the law is based on the individual's reasonable expectation of privacy. It is a crime to record someone without their knowledge however there is an exception for recording for monitoring purposes.
