Legal Question in Constitutional Law in Michigan

Police Acting Under "Color of Law"

I was engaged by the plaintiff spouse in a divorce action for marital business & personal property valuation to assist in equitable property settlement. During various hearings, defendant spouse submitted letters from local law enforcement officers using their respective titles in an effort to influence the court. Additionally, evidence was submitted identifying defendant spouse's corporate attorney as the judge's son. A ficticious felony charge was made against me to discredity my work, with defendant police friends as investigating officers and at least one as a prosecution witness. I was acquitted. The jury was polled and said they believed the story a complete fabrication. Police had in their position evidence that defendant spouse identified another person, not me, as the one committing the crime. The evidence was ignored. During the trial, one witness admitted that after discussion with police, she changed her statement to identify me, rather than the individual she initially stated as committing the crime. How do I locate an attorney capable of handling a police corruption matter? Any help you could provide would be appreciated.

Re: Police Acting Under

It is unfortuante that you are yet another example of the corruption that results from absolute power. I belong to a national association of trial lawyers called the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA). I believe ATLA affiliated lawyers to be the best trial and most ethical attorneys in the country. You may contact ATLA on line at www.ATLA.org and you will be directed to an attorney in your area. I can also request an ATLA attorney for you on line if you e-mail your request to me at [email protected]
