Legal Question in Construction Law in Michigan
Substantially Similar legal definition
I'm building a house in Michigan through a national builder. The façade of our new house does not match the diagram presented to us in the purchase agreement. The purchase agreement states that the builder will provide construction that is “substantially similar” to the diagram presented in the purchase agreement. From a legal perspective, what does “substantially similar” mean in Michigan?

Re: Substantially Similar legal definition
This is a difficult question that cannot be answered in the context of this venue. Legal research of case law in Michigan must be evaluated to give the context of this meaning. At a minimum it must appear to resemble the architectural rendering as presented to you in your agreement. This is a question of fact under law. If you are really concerned seek legal counsel in your area of Michigan.
