Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan

we purchased a used art tent for $320.00 , gave a deposit of $160.00

with delivery of 4 weeks later. 2 weeks after deposit seller wants $500.00 or they will sell to someone else. we have a email from the seller stating they want more money or no sale.

do we have a binding contract for $320.00 ? or should we just pay the $500.00

If the tent was offered for sale for $320.00 and you accepted the offer, providing consideration of a deposit, you have a valid, legally enforceable contract. If you have further questions, please contact me via my website at www.lawrefs.com.

Yes you have a binding contract - they cannot change the terms later on, especially after you agreed upon the terms and remitted your deposit accordingly. They are ripping you off. If you need a lawyer to contact them or place something in writing, please advise, as they may now try to keep your deposit. Jerks!
