Legal Question in Consumer Law in Michigan

unfair cost

I was recently at a scrapbooking expo for women that had different booths offering services. I asked the teeth whitening booth the cost for the procedure, they said free. When I was finished I walked away after thanking them and they chased me down and asked if I was going to pay. They initially told me it was free or I wouldn't have had the procedure, now they wanted $89.00. There was no sign stating a cost and I was shocked that they expected me to pay. I wrote a check so as not to cause a scene. Do I have any rights?

Re: unfair cost

Yes, you have a breach of contract. You did not agree to pay $89.00 but did agree to pay $0.00. You can write a letter to them and send it certified mail return receipt requested. If that does not work, file a complaint with the attorney general.
