Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

8yr old financial debt

DoI have any recorse for a debt I incured over 8 years ago. I purchased a vehicle on father's Ford discount. I showed up at the dealership with the intent to finance the vehicle through our financal institution and get the car. Father STRONGLY SUGGESTED I finance car with loan from his girlfriend to help her divert some funds for tax reasons. I ended up with loan from his girlfriends bank. We got car, began making payments. My husband, after 12 years of sobriety started drinking and gambling. We lost everything. We were evicted from our home and I needed to find a safe place for my daughter and myself to live. I had to borrow money from friends and creditors. I couldn't make full car payments and went to father's girlfriend, who said to do what I could and she wouldn't charge interest on the balance. Then my father took my drinking husband in and had him redmodel his home and my father would put money toward the car loan. My father got his house redone and sold place for a considerable profit and moved out of town. My husband went into treatment & sober today. Have been trying to get payment records my father supposibly kept to settle this. What legal recourse do I have to help resolve this situation.
