I'm assuming by your question that they have filed a lawsuit against you. If so, you can file a counter-complaint for defamation, if they did in fact defame you, or cause you any damages (in order to prevail on any claim, you must demonstrate that you were damaged or suffered damages). If they filed a frivolous or baseless lawsuit (such as by mistakenly suing you, thinking you owed money), then you can request the court grant you costs and attorney's fees for having to defend the frivolous action. All of your defenses must be filed as Affirmative Defenses when you file your Answer to the Complaint, or your defenses may be deemed waived. Any counter claims should also be filed at that time.
