Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

My ex-girlfriend owes me $2043.60 from a loan (written contract) and stopped paying me the $200 per month (also in the contract) we agreed on. 4 months have passed since I last received payment, but I recently found out exactly where she lives at. (In Arizona and i'm in Michigan)

I want to proceed in suing her in small claims court, but I don't know how to go about that. I know I have to file in her county in Arizona. Do I have to show up to file and for the hearing? How can they proved that she will be served? She will most likely reject a certified letter with a return receipt.

You need to hire a lawyer to assist you - you have too many initial questions to be able to go through the process without a lawyer. You may be able to sue her in Michigan if the contract was entered into in Michigan. You do not have to sue in small claims court if you want to retain a lawyer - you can sue in district court. If you are going to sue in Arizona, then you need advice from an Arizona lawyer. Each state is different and Michigan lawyers can only provide legal advice on Michigan law.
