Re: Garnishment

There are typically two types of garnishment -- wages and bank accounts. A party can object to the garnishment if the garnishment is not lawful (i.e. garnishment of bank account holding social security deposit) or for other limited and specific reasons. A wage garnishment can also be stopped under certain circumstances. If it cannot be stopped, the payment can possibly be lowered significantly if you file a motion for installment payments which you can pick up from the court. I can assist you with that for my regular hourly fee.

Re: Garnishment

Usually, garnishment orders come with a set of instructions you can take to a lawyer.

Although you're better off dealing with it before the funds ar taken, sometimes you can force the creditor to return some or all of the money, if you ask for a court hearing.
