Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Michigan

I keep receiving threatening calls that I am going to be served a certified notice of intent. My family says that only a sheriff can come to my house or employer to give me a certified notice of intent. I don't want to ignore these phone calls, if there could be a chance that it is true. However, I don't want a stranger to know where I live and/or work. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have never heard of a notice of intent. Are they speaking of suing you? This would be a summons and complaint and this can be served by anyone. Kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz
