A 20 years old was addicted to heroin for about 2 years. In that time he was busted with a meth lab, pled guilty and served 6 months. While in jail a firearm was found, register to a friend. He admitted he stole it and traded it for drugs. That he has yet to be sentanced for. Now in jail waiting to be sentanced for that gun police have found another gun but have yet to charge him. If he is convicted of the first gun and then they charge him with the second speratly will that equal the 3 strikes for life in prison even though they were all commited in a few months time?
Michigan does not have a three strikes law. However, sentencing as a habitual offender can be very harsh. I STRONGLY recommend that he hire an experienced, aggressive attorney to help his with his case.
