Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

I am 18 years old and I was arrested at kohls store for retail fraud. It was an item that cost 50$. The security stopped me at the door, and got back the item. It was unharmed and able to resell. She filled out paperwork and called the police. Because I didn't have my ID with me, they arrested me to finger print and photograph. Their lawyer sent me a letter saying that I needed to pay a 200 dollar fine within 21 days. If I do pay they won't take any legal action, but i still have to go to court because of the arrest. If I don't pay the fine, what more will happen?

The civil demand and the criminal action are different. In court, you will need to make sure this stays off your permanent criminal record and an attorney will certainly help. Find a local expert in this area. Tim Klisz kliszlaw.com
