A public defender costs a couple hundred and a high end lawyer will charge thousands. You should interview local lawyers and see who is right for you. Kliszlaw.com. Tim Klisz

Depends upon whether you want to be right or happy. For me, happy means a removal of the no contact provision of your bond so you can go home. Then, a plea which results in 6-12 months of probation with no jail and and a later dismissal (no record and you get to keep your job). Flat fee is $1000 provided that you have no prior assaults and the victim was not taken to the hospital.

If you want to be right ("I didn't do it and that bitch set me up"), it's a hefty fee that won't make you happy.
