Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Disorderly obscene conduct

I'm being charged with disorderly obscene conduct for urinating in a public place. The police officer told my mom later on that this is a minor misdemeanor. How should I plead? I would rather be subject to community service or a fine than have something on my permanent record.

Disorderly obscene conduct

Certainly I wouldn't ever rely on a cop for legal advice. When the cops have a legal problem, they hire a lawyer. You ought to do the same. In my view, ANY criminal record is not a "minor" thing. Criminal records stay with you for life. I'd ignore the cop's legal advice and see a real attorney.
