mip, driving while license suspended

i was recently pulled over. upon running my license, it was found that it was suspended for not paying driver responsibility fee. i was completely unaware that it had been suspended. i never received anything from the state that it was suspended. Which that gave the officer reason to search my car and there was beer and i'm only 20. but i am worried because i've had a posession of marijuana, mip, and owi. Any help on how to avoid jail time?
