Posesion Of Marijuana

I got pulled over doing 10 over. The cop asked me if there were any drugs in the car i handed him my weed. it was an eighth of an ounce. He gave me a mistamedor and a 10 over the speed limit write up. My question is. What am i looking at, a fine; if so up to what? jail? probation?permanent record? and the biggest thing is do my parents have to find out, cause if they do i would be kicked out of the house and i dont need that right now so basically i am asking whats they farthest extent i could be charged with and how would u go about it in court. Court is on Oct 26

You could receive up to 90 days in jail, fines and costs and your driver license can be suspended for up to 6 months. It is unlikely that you will receive 90 days in jail, but some jail is a possibility. On the other hand, if the case is handled properly, it is possible that you receive probation, don't lose your license and the case doesn't appear on your record.

You have to act quickly if you don't want your parents to find out. An attorney can have all related notices to you sent to him -otherwise they go to your house.. The marijuana charge can be kept off your record. The speeding charge can be reduced if your driving record is acceptable. I practice in Troy.
