How long does a retail fraud case normally take. I was caught yesterday and I am 20 don't have anything on my record. I am going to school at the end of August can this be taken care of before than?

Re: Retail Fraud and Time

It depends upon:

1. What city the store is in.

2. What court the case is in.

3. Whether you were arrested or just ticketed.

4. Whether you were detained by a State Trooper, County Sheriff's Deputy, or Local Police Officer.

5. Whether the charge is RFI, RFII, or RFIII. (In your case, the value of the goods taken determines the level.)

6. Whether you are a U.S. citizen or not.

Given more detail, I can give you an approximate time.
