Legal Question in Criminal Law in Michigan

Validity of subpoena for out of state residents

Is a subpoena valid for a non resident(prosecutor ordered the non resident to appear as witness) of Michigan that resides in a State over 600 miles from the Court issuing the subpoena. The case is a Misdemeanor. The Subpoena was received 5 days before the scheduled hearing.

Contact the prosecutor who requested the subpoena. Inform him/her that you are unable to attend court because ..... If he or she really needs you they can request an adjournment and reschedule around your schedule. Also inform him or her that you need a plane ticket and transportation to and from the court as well as a place to stay while you are in Michigan. Inform him/her that you don't have available funds to make the trip. What county is it in? Good luck.
